Dan, let me know if you mean the text directly under my photos, or something else. I don't use the blogger tag option. My photo titles are embedded when I send the photo from Flickr, where all my pics are hosted.
If you see on my Project page, I've got "labels" going, so people could click on the label and be taken to other blogs with similar topics. I think they also potentially increase the odds of people stumbling across my post in a general internet search. I thought I used to see them under your posts. I want them to exist on mine, but not be so visible & distracting.

I suspect you can funk with the html to determine their size - you just have to dig through the code until you find where the tags are.
Yeah, I don't see any way to shrink them without tweaking the code on your own. I've used them sparingly.
