Refreshing yourself for the upcoming release?

I like the subtext of the photo; the casting aside of the newer, sexier technologies (to the right) in favor of a book.

Definitely. Reading the Potter books again, as the big #7 is coming out in July. July 21. I'll be at Prairie Lights Books at midnight, geeking out. I think Cheri and I will both get a copy and read it the next day.

I'll admit the subtext was not planned, but it's there. This was about 7:00 a.m. or so on Thursday, and I was waiting for a ride to go to a meeting in Des Moines.

I remain confused to this day about the decision to call it Sorcerer's Stone in the US versus Philosopher's Stone everywhere else. It's not like Sorcerer's Stone is a common idiom in this country. It's just as meaningless to most people as Philosopher's Stone. Is there a stronger anti-alchemy lobby in this country?

And doesn't Harry look disheveled?

Corporate America, in this case Scholastic Publishing, protecting children from several moments of thoughtfulness. Also, I suspect "football" was changed to "soccer" in this edition. I should have purchased a british version from amanzon.ca, and may still before I get into book 2.

I envisioned Harry based on this cover. It's noted in the story that his hair is sticking out the back, just like his dad. Now, of course, Harry smokes and hangs around horses, completely naked.

Everybody grows up.

At constant threat of death, I'd be a smoker too. I might encourage Ron Weasly to get his shit together as well. That red-headed bastard will be the death of someone yet, probably himself.
