The downtown mall has been emptying out the past few years. Adjacent to the university's main campus, it has slowly become university property, hence the study hall at the foot of the elevator. Next month, the movie theater upstairs is scheduled to close.

Funny to have a 'shop locally' sign in a mall.
Yeah, there are a number of local shops in the bottom floor, but for the most part the anchor is the Diamond Daves mexican place, as well as a Taco Bells and Quizno's, and the nuclear bomb-proof Sparro's Pizza. More "shop locally, eat corporate".
It's a funny mall that has restaurants as its anchors.
