In this case, the light source (bright gas station lights) falling on the frozen concrete saved me. My Sony point 'n click really needs a tripod for the night shots.
Most of them don't seem to deal well with night, though a standard fil camera would want a tripod as well.Something I learned over the weekend...50ISO film is good for 16 megapixel100ISO is good for about 8 megapixeland so on...Digital cameras above 6mp are really about as detailed as film cameras except on very low film speeds.
